In an ambitious move, Babo grads  Mikaela Gillette, Raul Pellerano, and Anton Yakushin founders of www.Bongobing.com have filed a petition for an extention  of time to oppose Microsoft Corporation  in its efforts to register a trademark for the name “Bing”  with the United State Patent and Trademark Office.  The request was granted, allowing for an extention until  until October 28, 2009.

BongoBing is a search engine for Home and Garden products. The site can be seen here www.bongobing.com.

Raul Pellerano, as President of the company,  had this to say in an email to BongoBing supporters:

We are just a small company which has been put in a hard position due to Microsoft’s $100m marketing campaign and trademark application of “Bing” for their search engine and we have put everything into this company, so we believe it is important for a small company like us to continue to use its trademarks and conduct business without confusion in the marketplace.

It has come to our attention that a similar case with Google took place in the UK, more information here…  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4354954.stm in which Google lost the case! Hence the identity of Google Mail in the UK.
